Why You Keep Restarting Your Weight Loss Goals

Are you the type of person who tells themselves that they can’t stick to a weight loss plan because you can’t follow it perfectly.

Do you tell yourself that if you can't follow it perfectly, there is no point in trying?

Even though you might not like to hear it, or even admit it, this is the hallmark sign of perfectionism.

This is arguably, the most common mindset flaw that people who struggle with staying on a weight loss routine have.

Most people think that to see results, everything must be perfect.

No if and or buts about.

100% all in, 100% of the time. No mistakes.

But the problem is that this way of thinking is not realistic or sustainable by any means.

Instead of achieving your goals, by following your unrealistic perfect plan, the following are unfortunately more likely to happen.

Inconsistency in workouts, healthy meals, and healthy habits.

Harsh self-criticism that can lead to lower self-esteem.

The illusion that you are failing because you can’t keep up with the unrealistic standards and expectations you have set for yourself.

All of these combined make it so you feel less motivated and less interested in sticking to your plan of trying to lose weight and become healthier.

I know how hard it can be to break this pattern of thinking.

I also know what is on the other side when you do break the perfectionist trap once and for all.

If you replace your obsession with the outcome and focus on the small daily habits and actions you need to take each day, you will reach your goal.

If you celebrate the little wins, no matter how big or small, you will be investing in your self-esteem account and your confidence will grow.

If you remind yourself that one unhealthy meal or one skipped workout won’t make you immediately fat, you will be able to get back on track quicker than if you criticized yourself for that cheeseburger or sleeping in.

Most adults have enough knowledge in the basics of losing weight and getting healthier.

The reason why people get stuck, and give up is because they don't know how to stay consistent when life gets busy.

The perfectionsim trap makes them think that if you can't be perfectly consistent, there is no point in trying.

What they don't realize is that this is the exact reason why they stop and start their weight loss goals month after month, year after year.

Only when they break free form this trap are they able come up with a plan that fits their life, is realistic, and works for them.
