Change Starts With You

Change is hard.

Change is messy.

But making a change in your life is not impossible.

You just need to know how to make changes.

The first step in trying to make a change in your life is becoming aware that something needs to be changed.

Without acknowledging that something is not going the way you want it to, or realizing that you are unhappy with a current situation, then you will never give yourself the chance to turn things around for the better.

Let's be honest, we all have things we would like to change.

Most of the people that walk through my doors want to change some combination of the following.

Their fitness, their eating habits, or how they feel about themselves.

Some people come to me after realizing they feel weak and are no longer as fit as they used to be.

They tell me how frustrated they feel when simple things like yardwork, moving boxes, and going up the stairs is now challenging.

Some need to improve their eating habits to reduce their chances of getting lifestyle related diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, or metabolic syndrome.

Others will share with me how they want to feel more confident in themselves when they walk down the stairs on date nights with their spouse.

Everyone has their reasons, but they all acknowledge something needs to be different in their life.

While acknowledging something needs to be changed is step one, the second step is accepting responsibility.

Accepting responsibility that you have the power to create the change you want to see.

You have the ability to control your actions and choices so that each decision you make can either bring you away from feeling down about your current situation, or towards a brighter more inspiring one.

Lastly, you have to realize that no one is going to make the changes you want to see in your life for you.

If you have aspirations to change your body composition, improve your health, and feel great about what you are accomplishing, you owe it to your future self to find out how to make those changes.

You future self is cheering you on from 1, 5, even 10 years down the road so that you can live up to your true potential.

If you can find your motivation, build out your plan, and be as consistent as you can, then whatever change you trying to make will be possible.

The questions to ask yourself now becomes...

What do you want to change?

How can you make that change?

What is motivating you to make that change?
